Holiday Wishes

So I try to be as positive as possible, but can anyone tell me WHY for the new Holiday wishes fireworks show at the Magic Kingdom, they are using music from the 20th Century Fox movie "the Polar Express"..... Does anyone else find this a little wierd....... This should be a sign that it is time for Disney to bring back the classic Disney Musical, we could use some new music!!!

I haven't seen the show yet, but some friends of mine saw the CM preview the other day. Based on what they said, why even BOTHER with the whole thing, period?

They said it sucked.

Laughingplace.com has video of the show, it starts with the song "The Spirit of the Season" from the Polar Express. The show is just like wishes.

Hey, yall!

I just watched the movie at laughingplace.com. Wow, another brilliant score by Greg Smith!!! I did think it was strange that he used Silvestri?s ?Spirit of the Season? but I still thought it was used quite nicely. I also like his ?Holiday Wishes? theme. The finale was excellent; fireworks and music. Those final clouds of blue, red and green must look SPECTACULAR!!!!!

I also like how he included the actual ?Wishes? motif in the final vocal phrases. Nice way to tie the ?Wishes? shows together. Don?t listen to Sharon?s CM friends. ;) It?s a beautiful show and a heartwarming score. I only wish I could make it down there this holiday season to see it.

Have a great day,
-Rick

The music was beautiful!!! Loved it! The "Spirit of the Season" song is great. no reason not to use it. yah, a little funny that it is from a fox movie, but the song itself overrides all of that.
wonder who was in charge of creative direction for this show?

I have to agree with Rick. The show looks and sounds amazing!! I wish I could be there to see it in person. The use of "Spirit of the Season" by Alan Silvistri was a stroke of Genius if you ask me. One of the most "Christmasy" songs I have heard in quite some time. What would have topped it off would have been the use of "A place called home" by Alan Menken. You know me a die-hard Menken fan. I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.

Best Wishes,

Ky

YES!!!! "A Place Called Home" would have been PERFECT! They did use that song in the Kids of the Kingdom show, "Mickey's Twas the Night Before Christmas" and I thought it was very beautiful and extremely effective. I sure hope they release this soundtrack!

Seeing as there is going to probably more holiday themed Wishes shows, I think they sould release a new Wishes CD with all the different versions of the show.

Have a great day,
-Rick

It's been on sale now for about a week and sells for $14.98 +tax. I love it!!! Great soundtrack featuring Jennifer Holliday in the pop version of "Xmas all around us".
