High School Musical 2-disc and Cars OST

Browsing on Amazon's website, I found Disney will release some new soundtrack albums in US.

Disney's hot TV movie, High School Musical, will release a 2-disc special edition soundtrack album on May 23.

In addition, the soundtrack of Cars, Disney/Pixar's new movie this summer, will release on June 6, and launch to be pre-ordered now.

thanks for the info ... the strange thing is that the2-disc edition of the High School Musical still lists the exact same tracks as on the regular release - guess we need to wait to get more information.

About Cars: I am really looking forward to that release. BUT I would advise everybody NOT to preorder the CD. The problem is: if the older information is still correct the CD will heavily feature material from country-stars such as Brad Paisley and Rascal Flatts. Since the later are signed to Lyric Street Records (which is part of the Buena Vista Music Group) it could be that the guys from Lyric Street Record will have a hand in the CD release of "Cars". So why no preorder? Well, these guys love to release their CDs through different retailers with different bonus material.

Rascal Flatts just released their new CD (selling more than 250,000 copies on the release-day - congratulations for that, the Buena Vista Music Group really is having some success here!) and just off the mind I remember these versions being available:

1. preorder through Amazon = regular release
2. preorder through Rascal Flatts official website = "special edition", which means onl special cover / booklet
3. Walmart = 5 track bonus CD
4. BestBuy(?) = 3 bonus tracks
5. Target(???) = 2 bonus tracks

And these informations were only revealed a few days before the official street-date when many fans had pre-ordered the "special edition" from the website.

So for the moment I would advise to wait and see...
