Gotta question for everyone. Several files that I have downloaded from various sources (some even dating back to the Napster days) have what appears to be Hex Values at the end of the file name. For those who do not know what hex values are, its a different numerical system. Binary is base two, 0 or 1; roman numerals is base ten, 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9; and hex is base 16, 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,A,B,C,D,E,F. Hex allows to count up to 15, 0 to 15 each corresponding to their respective value. Anyway, the names look like this "Area Music L#25A69.mp3". Now I'm assuming since the last word appears to be cut off, L is probally supposed to be Loop, it would appear that some program somewhere along the life of the file truncated its name and added the hex values. (Possibly as a check sum to reconstruct the full name?) I have never seen them in any other MP3 I have downloaded from anyplace. In which case, is it some naming system that is used either within WDI or some personal collector? Can anyone shed any light into this? Thanks.
