Heffalumps and Woozles - DL Esplanade

I have a quick question about the Heffalumps and Woozles track that plays in the Disneyland Esplanade. Is it the same track that plays in the Winnie the Pooh queue area? If yes, is it a shortened version of the queue music? It seems (according to my memory) similar during the first and last parts of the queue music, but I don't recall hearing the middle slow version of Heffalumps and Woozles in the Esplanade.

Also, has anyone figured out the source for the I Left My Heart in San Francisco piece or Hooray for Hollywood?

Thanks!

I don't have a recording of the Esplanade version of H&W, but I think you might be right.

I've been looking for the correct version of I Left My Heart in San Francisco for some time with no luck.

The version of Hooray for Hollywood is from this CD:

Salute to Hollywood

i've also been very curious about "You Can Fly" in the esplanade. it's clearly a version from something related to One Man's Dream, it even plays the notes to one man's dream, but there's never been a version of the show like it or so I think. :p Very weird to edit together You Can Fly and decide hey let's edit in a beginning section of the main melody for One Man's Dream too.

Nice catch on the One Man's Dream thing. Never noticed that before.

To be sure, the Esplanade loop is a very weird loop. Few of the songs used are actually versions played in the parks, which makes little sense to me.

Comparing different versions of the entrance loops from Disneyland, Magic Kingdom and Tokyo you can tell as well that certain groups of tracks were medleys that have been split up or edited. It's all very strange.

Every day I do my search for a version of I Left My Heart In San Francisco that matches the play time of the Esplanade, but so far no luck.

The closest I can get is the Count Basie version, but it's not long enough.

Some day...

And to make things more difficult, I was listening to the queue music for Winnie the Pooh in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and I believe after just a quick listen that the Heffelumps and Woozles section is different in the two parks. Will give it another listen today to decide.

as far as i knew both were the same loops and the pretty tokyo loop was the different one

As far as I know, there's been three different loops used at WDW, although loop 2 is included in loop 3. Out of curiosity, what length is the version you have?

I have one that is 21:15 and is the buzzy sounding queue music in DL and then I have a second one that I found that was just labeled Pooh BGM which is 10:18 and is a softer orchestral version.

Back to my original question. I now have found several instrumental versions of Heff and Woozles. Anyone know which version is in the Esplanade. Maybe even just a play time? A recording I could compare to?

It is the softer orchestra version, not the buzzing bees from Tokyo. :)

Also, I'm pretty sure the "Left My Heart in San Francisco" is from the old Paradise Pier area loop, which I have. I'll double check for ye...

"I Left My Heart in San Francisco" is not the caliope version from the Paradise Pier loop, it's a jazz band version (sounds very similar to the Count Basie version).

Ah, I stand corrected. :)

To the original poster: Would you mind sharing the Pooh BGM with us?

Just to answer your question, the version of H&W from the Esplanade is the same one from the DL Winnie the Pooh Queue. Of course, there are a few differences - the Esplanade track is 1:32 shorter than the full Pooh Queue loop and is also preceded by a 30-second snippet of "Winnie the Pooh".

Right you are! And the 30 Second snippet of "Winnie the Pooh" can be found in the "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" track from "A Musical History of Disneyland". :)

Hello all,

I think I confirmed the version of "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" in case it hasn't been found. The CD for this track is entitled "Boogie Blues and Ballads" by Ray Anthony. Here is a link where you can listen to a sample:
