When does the actual anniversary happen? I will be in WDW in October and I wonder if they will have anything special going on there. Not sure, since it is DL and not WDW celebrating the anniversary.

The Haunted Mansion opened on August 12, 1969, so, technically, the anniversary has already happened.

Disneyland will be holding a Haunted Mansion 40th Anniversary Merchandise Event on 09-09-09.
