Hall of Presidents Load/Unload Music

I was just listening to the CD Reissue of the Hall of Presidents, and was wondering if anyone knew what that first version of HoP used as Load/Unload music? I assume it was some great piece of Buddy Baker score, but was just wondering if anyone knows more.

Hi.

I own both the Hall of Presidents LP, and the CD, and they are the same. The LP contained no other load/unload music.

I can tell you this first hand; As a young lad, I remember the Buddy Baker instrumental underscore to Lincoln's speech on the overhead speakers. I'm going back to about 1977 here. Very mood-making. Everything Disney did back then was very cinematic.

I can also claim that I heard the very same piece of tape played in the rotunda at The American Adventure.

Hope this offers some shred of something!

I believe the name of that piece of music is Johnny Shiloh; I'm getting that from Persistence of Vision's World's Fair issue, where Buddy Baker's score for Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is discussed. I believe this same piece of music is used currently in the American Adventure area loop and the Liberty Square area loop.

Also, I wish that Eric Paddon would chime in here, as I recall him saying that the Hall of Presidents underscore was used in the lobby of the attraction. He might have additional information.

Best,

The CD release was a reissue of the old LP, and was sold at WDW (and DL I believe) through the Wonderland Music system, the kiosks that let you order your own CD. I'm not sure if the HoP has made it to iTunes yet. What was on it was the original 1971 version of the show as it played at WDW.

The Wonderland music system is now gone from both parks. The Disneyland kiosks were in the Music store on Main St, and the WDW kiosks were (someone correct me if I'm wrong) in the Main St Exposition Hall and I think in Downtown Disney also.

The WDW Forever kiosk was in the Exposition Hall. The Wonderland kiosk was in the Main Street Cinema gift shop. :)

Yes they are identical. I didn't mean to imply that the load music was on either version- I'm simply asking what load music was used in the attraction.

So I might, -MIGHT-, probably not, I sure hope not, go see the Hall of Presidents on my upcoming WDW trip for the first time =P My rule is if on one of the later days if I find myself walking around MK without a purpose and find myself not doing something or going to something for more than 15 minutes =P
