Epcot's "We're Getting Ready For You" Video

Just returned from a great trip to WDW, and was totally captivated by a retro video playing in Epcot's 25th Anniversary exhibit. It was basically a pre-opening video showing the work being done by Imagineers to get Epcot up and running.

In the background was the catchiest, 80's-est song ever: "We're Getting Ready For You"!

Have you guys heard this? Is it well known? Or is it from a more full-length video that I might find somewhere?

Anyway, just curious about this song and the video. I'd love to see/hear more!

The track is available for download at MB as part of an EPCOT 25 torrent.

And as a note - the track at MB has an extended ending not used in the video :)

I could have sworn that we had this video somewhere. I remember seeing some of that footage before.

Does anyone know of a song called, "We're Getting ready for you" was used for? I have a MP3 file that has song along with a few others...(Also, are we allowed to post MP3 files or is that a BIG Nono?)

Seriously, that isn't permitted here as the mp3 file is copyright.
A short clip (fair use policy) of 30 seconds or less for identification purposes is generally allowed but needs to be removed once it's ID'd.

That does answer something, but the copy I have is the full version? Also, I don't know how to clip an MP3 to 30 seconds.

If you need to make a short clip, the easiest way is to play the clip on your PC and use a recording program (plenty of free ones if you don't have one - I think Windows includes a recorder of some sort though - to record the bit you want from your sound card. Just record and stop and post the clip to your favorite fileshare (free) site. You are not going for quality here, just the sound so we can hear it. As I said, I believe 30 seconds is the maximum length permitted under the fair use policy (like the clips you hear on Amazon).

Hi everybody,

Love this song and the clip!! But I always wondered who sang the lyrics of "We're Getting Ready For You"... It sounds a lot like a Sherman Brother ;) (especially if you listen to the original soundtrack of Horizons (you know: "...we reach for new horizons...").

Does anybody now?
