Encore! concerts this Wednesday, Thurs., and Friday nights 8pm at Epcot!!!!

Hi all!

Just wanted to drop a note and let all of you know about a great concert happening the next few nights at Epcot's Worldshowplace. Encore! "Anything Can Happen" concert features a cast choir, orchestra and vocal soloists performing songs from Broadway songs of the past century. This year, we're helping raise money for the United Arts of Central Florida. A little about the organization from the official website:

OUR MISSION: To give all Walt Disney World Cast Members and their families the opportunity to perform in a choral/orchestral environment and give the proceeds from each concert to a charity.

ENCORE! Cast Choir and Orchestra was formed in 2002 by a small group of Cast Members with a passion for music and a strong desire to give back to the community. Over the past five years we have performed six very different concerts, featuring the music of Broadway, Patriotic songs, Gospel hymns, Rock anthems and themes from the Movies. We?ve seen incredible growth each year, today being a choir of over 140 and a 75-piece symphony orchestra. Best of all, we?ve been able to contribute over $57,000 to deserving Central Florida charities.

Me again: As someone who's played in the NY Broadway pit orchestras for Spamalot and Phantom, I can personally attest to the incredible talent that's been assembled for this concert. The soloists are every bit as good as what I heard while working in NY. Simply, they rock! With cast members performing from Epcot's VOL and Finding Nemo, among other shows, The music sounds AWESOME and its all for a great cause, read more at the website encorecentral.org.

I missed last years show, but attended the two before it, and they were simply amazing! They really need to start taping whole performances. The first one I saw, I think titled Boheme, had a soloist doing Defying Gravity. I have seen Wicked 3 times, and it just didn't compare to the fantastic job she did.
