DLP Space Mountain Mission II- Queue Area?

Since I made that first post, I've been told that there is no longer any music playing there, only some sort of rocket engine type rhythm and some com chat. So basically something akin to what plays at DL's Queue.

Ups, must have missed this thread when it was originally posted.

You are right X-S Tech - the indoor queue no longer uses the great instrumental BGM of the original DLRP Space Mountain but instead intercom chat as imagined for a space launch and space control center.

As a side note: indoor queue has also been closed off in the sense that you can no longer look into the interior of the actual mountain, meaning you can't see anything of the ride. Only the "windows" into the final break area are still open.

I'm still disappointed that the former queue music was never released in its entirety. "Space Mountain Impressions" on the old DLP OA is a cut-and-paste job from a longer loop. Sigh.

It indeed never was released entirely officially, but thanks to a well willing imagineer back in the mid nineties and a fan, a full 8 minute version has been floating around the web for a while...
Let me know if you can't find it.. ;)

MaX:

I hope you aren't talking about a version that runs 7:12... if you are, I can tell you that one was cut-and-pasted together from "Space Mountain Impressions," a live recording, and clips from Steve Bramson's website; I know, because I put it together myself.

I would love to have confirmation that there is a longer (and authentic) version available somewhere.....

Sooooooooo......

This track would fit into the playlist as the fourth piece right?

1.The Discovery from Columbus (3:58)
2.Cowlynn and Lyssa Love Theme (2:38)
3.Riding the Firemares (3:23)
4.Impressions of Space Mountain (8:53)
5.Shooting Stars (2:11)
6.The Sea from Columbus (1:40)
7.The Flying Circus from The Rocketeer (6:28)
8.Always (1:01)
9.Epilogue from Krull (1:16)
10.To the Rescue and End Titles from Rocketeer (6:38)

Is Shooting stars part of track #4 instead of it's own track?

"Is Shooting stars part of track #4 instead of it's own track?"

yep.

This recording comes from a casette tape that once got out of the imagineering offices. Back when nobody ever heard about Napster, ofcourse.
I have to give credit to the person who made an mp3 out of the tape and gave it to me.

It included the onboard soundtrack and the "Space Mountain Theme". I assume it was intentended as one piece of music, which would indeed eliminate "shooting stars" as a seperate track from the play list.
Ofcourse, that's just an interpretation, but shooting stars seems a bit short as a seperate Space Mountain exclusive track.

"Thank you so much!"

You're welcome. We all know how it feels when we find that piece of theme park music we've been wanting for so long..
Say, you don't happen to have a master recording from Le Visionarium or Cinemagique, do you...? ;)

Years ago "Sounds of Magic" offered the above tracks -- with the exception, of course, of the piece just provided by Max -- all edited from the original soundtracks to conform to their appearance in the queue loop. Is that the source for the running times given in the above list? I was going through my old files and noticed that #10 from Sounds of Magic weighs in at 5:56 rather than 6:38....

Inquiring minds want to know.

To be honest Dr. Know, I don't know. I've had that playlist for so long, I really don't know where it came from. Probably this board actually as I didn't really frequent Sounds of Magic. If anyone knows what the length of this track should be though, please chime in.

Track 10 from the Rocketeer should be 5:57 indeed, as the piano solo at the beginning was cut from the track.
The track from Always should be 3:16, however, and is called "Dorinda Solo Flight" (I believe this track has been listed wrong at Sound of Magic).
I'm not 100% sure about this, but this is how I got the loop from DavidG, who's usually very accurate when it comes to music loops (and who also mixed the tape and CD release for a high quality track of the Space Mountain Theme).
Hope that helps...

MaX, your information has been really helpful.

As far as I can gather, this is the correct tracklist for the 1995-2005 queue loop:

01 A Hero's Welcome, from Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (Cliff Eidelman) 3:56 [excerpt]
02 Colwynn and Lyssa-Love Theme, from Krull (James Horner) [complete track] 2:35
03 Ride of the Fire Mares, from Krull (James Horner) 3:21 [excerpt]
04 Space Mountain Impressions (Steve Bramson) 8:53
05 The Great Sea, from Christopher Columbus: The Discovery (Cliff Eidelman) 1:38 [complete track]
06 The Flying Circus, from The Rocketeer (James Horner) 1:51 [excerpt]
07 Dorinda Solo Flight, from Always (John Williams) 3:16 [complete track] *
08 Epilogue and End Credits, from Krull (James Horner) 1:14 [excerpt]
09 Rocketeer to the Rescue/End Title, from The Rocketeer (James Horner) 5:56 [excerpt]

Note that in the above list, "excerpt" indicates tracks that have been edited down from the original versions on the soundtrack cds. "Sound of Magic" used to have these edited versions downloadable on the site.

* MaX -- you were absolutely right about this track... the complete track was used, not the excerpt formerly available on Sound of Magic. A partial live recording on sm.dlpfan.org confirms that this is the case.

Does anyone have corrections or new information?
