Disney's Celebrate America! - A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky is the name for an all new fireworks show that will be presented in place of Wishes on the nights of July 3 and 4. As this show is supposed to have a new soundtrack, I will be out making an induction audio recording, probably on one of the rehearsal nights, which are supposed to be June 29 and July 1.

They're only playing it on July 4th at Disneyland, and I'll be stuck on Tom Sawyer's Island for it but I'll be able to see most of the blasts unobscured at least =P

I got a fairly decent recording of Disney's Celebrate America! on June 29. Everything sounds great except for some resonance (too much bass in the arrangement) during the Red River Valley segment in the second half of the show.

I will be out there again, tonight, in hopes of getting something a little better.

Should a thunderstorm break out, however, I may stay home and watch Fluppy Dogs instead.

This show is incredible! I wish more people could have the opportunity to see it. I'll be going tomorrow night for my third showing.

They sure didn't have as many shells going up last night as they did on the 29th. Not even close.

It'll be great to see the full show tomorrow night... complete with a mirror of the main Castle fireworks being launched from the island out in the middle of the Seven Seas Lagoon!

I'll be watching from the beach at the Poly... and I have a dinner reservation at 'Ohana immediately following the show. It just doesn't get any better than that!

Why didn't they play the 10 minute announcement the two nights I had a recording device with me.

HeHe! Yeah, the second I heard the 10 minute announcement come on, I was thinking, "Hmm, I wonder if our DPMWJ club curator is getting this?" Guess who does have a recording of the 10 minute announcement? :(

I will try to upload the whole show and all of the annoucements to Rodentsections in a day or two.

BTW... what was with "Trigger Finger" out on the Electrical Water Pageant barge deciding to start the audio about 5-6 seconds too early? If you were on the Polynesian beach, none of the fireworks would have matched the soundtrack, and if you were close to any of the speakers around the pool and sidewalk areas, you would have heard an awful 5-6 second "echo," and still be wondering why nothing lined up. Instead of (apparently) giving a CD-R to the barge pilot, why didn't they install a FM receiver, and send a perfectly synched signal over from DACS Control?

Dinner at 'Ohana was excellent as usual. Man, am I stuffed right now! :D

I was on the Poly beach last night and the sound was horrible. Because the audio wasn't synched, no one could understand the narration.

But, a great show nonetheless. Maybe we should track down the barge pilot. I don't think he will have much use for the CD-R after tonight.

This is a new fireworks show that replaced a 4th of July "Fantasy in the Sky", this new fireworks show is great, but I can't wait to see it on YouTube. Thanks to "figmentfan" for putting this 2-part video of the entire show from last night after a few days of sneak previews, this is a new show. I will present to you in 2-parts.

Let's take you back to 2007 to see "Fantasy in the Sky" 4th of July one last time at the Magic Kingdom.

Don't the EWP barge speakers only play that show's music?
Normally, yes, but the barges were used to broadcast the Disney's Celebrate America! soundtrack to the multitude on the Polynesian beach.

BTW... there was no 10 minute announcement on the 4th... and the show started about 2 minutes early.

Ouch. Disneyland's got cut off due to high winds. They got cancelled entirely on New Years too.. they tried so hard to do them and got fairly into the show but then it cut off and it was announced that it could not continue but they'd try to get it going again within 5 minutes. A couple minutes later they announced it was done for. Disneyland is gonna pick up a bad reputation for going to see holiday fireworks at this rate if word gets around. It's packed as hell and due to high winds and the fact that everyone developed around the park because of its popularity and as a result they can't launch too much because of the fire hazards and any wind screws it all up. =P They did end up pumping the music into Fort Wilderness though and I had a nice few from the top of the Twain =)

Yeah, Disneyland always has the "high winds" problem. What they should have done is more showings of the holiday fireworks. They could alleviate some of the guest complaints by spreading the show over the week of the 4th, instead of just doing it on one or two nights. The wind is something they will always have to contend with, so they really should compensate for that by doing more shows.

Well it sure seemed to pick the 4th to start being windy, but it was pretty bad. There was shell debris from the 7 minutes they did manage to get off all over the TDA area, Ball Rd, and even on the freeway apparently. And another big issue is that people won't pay to get into the park they'll line the bridge and line Ball Rd which means any debris that falls outside the property is landing on them and leading to lawsuits if it had "hurt" anyone. Not to mention the cars in Mickey & Friends. It took 45 minutes to get to Katella from Ball last night apparently because of how packed that whole area gets from people stopping in their cars and trying to get to the park and people lining the streets watching.

Yeah, this sucks! Looked what happened at Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom, they did have the same show but it does not cut off at the end, thankfully Disney was so lucky to have the whole show for the first time with an awesome ending, Disneyland does not used the finale from the same show, you can't have it until next year.
