So it looks like we are getting a Disneyland 60th 3 CD set as part of the upcoming celebration. Great News!....oh wait, and then there's the tracklisting. Nothing new, no new parade, no new fireworks, no world of color...nada. I guess we are beating a dead horse thinking Randy and crew will come up with something new an exciting.

Thank you for making the track list available. It is a good representation of Disneyland for the general public but it does not offer anything new for those who are really interested in Disney park music and attractions. It amazes me that Tokyo Disneyland seems to release a few new CDs almost monthly yet it is years between the US Disney parks releases - and they do not contain much new content despite new shows and attractions. The only possible explanation I can think of is that it must not sell well in the US.

The lack of new material has clearly affected this forum. There was a time when there were multiple daily discussions going. Now it is weeks between posts and it is very rare that there is a response or comment.

I thank everyone who has ever responded to my questions in the past and hopefully this forum will rebound. I ask Jay to please post some the Playlists that he has hinted at - that is the only new park material that we will likely see.

I gotta believe that if they kept the core attractions and added the 60th Fireworks & Parade, the CD would sell just as well. Unless there is a clear legal reason (or they have future plans for those tracks) for not including, I honestly don't have a clue why they are left off. If they are worried about the CD not selling, then make them digital only d/l's through iTunes.

As for the site, I disappeared for awhile as well and was really surprised that when I returned a) the site seemed very inactive and b) nobody had even posted anything about the 60th release. As you said, a lack of music will hurt a site dedicated to music.

Hiya Guys!

The Legacy Collection: Disneyland was not intended to be a part of the Diamond Celebration. It was designed as part of The Legacy Collection celebrating the music from The Park. The Park just wanted a window of exclusivity. Unfortunately, this makes it appear as though it was created for the Celebration.

I'm trying to get something done specifically for the Diamond Celebration, but I don't know it we can do it just yet. Even if we get the go-ahead, it would probably happen after the Celebration begins, as the things I'd like to include are still being perfected by the great folks at Disneyland Entertainment.

Again, I don't know if these projects will happen for sure, but I just wanted you guys to know what this Legacy Edition for Disneyland was aimed at.

You all have been such loyal fans of Disney Music (especially The Parks), I just wanted to clear this up for you all.

Many thanks,
Randy Thornton

Thanks for checking in Randy and my apologies for directing my frustration towards you. I know that you understand how much we crave unique things, especially when it comes to a milestone like the 60th. As you say, by Disney releasing this to appear to represent the 60th, it's clearly pretty misleading to quite a few folks in the Disney fanbase. I certainly hope that the powers that be will realize that there is a demand for the new entertainment offerings around the 60th and we'll see some type of release perhaps just focused on these new pieces. Thanks again for all you do, it's got to be a tough balance to please the average guest and those of us that have it all, multiple times, and want new or truly rare music from the parks.

Hello Randy Thornton (and every one else at MagicMusic.net)!

I'm as guilty as the rest for only being an occasional lurker here in recent years.

I stopped in today to see what kind of info there was on this particular release.

Much like Steve (the OP) I was thrilled to see that I would yet again be able to purchase another copy of Miracles from Molecules! :D

And, as paul noted, there are some great discs being churned out from Tokyo DL. In fact, I just had one shipped from amazon.jp called All That Brass. THIS is a disc that any collector of Disney Parks music needs to have in their collection. Especially if they love the Main Street Philharmonic (or are still mourning the loss of the Main Street Marching band at WDW).

The track list is great. These are the chestnut arrangements which are still being performed at the parks. Two big thumbs up from me.

I should probably start a separate thread on the subject...

I just checked in to my old site here for the first time in weeks and am pleased to see it's just like old times with Randy chiming in on what we might be able to look forward to next.

I've been collecting every release in the Legacy series hoping that every little bit will keep it going. Some albums don't have a whole lot new (such as Cinderella or now, apparently, Disneyland). But I love the artwork and presentation! My fingers are crossed that a Wave 2 will be announced.
