Disney NEW animated movie - Prince and the Pig

Walt Disney Pictures has acquired the pitch Prince and the Pig from writer-director Rian Johnson, based on his own epic poem, to develop into an animated feature film.

The project is described as a fairy tale centering on the grand adventure of a boy and his pig as they set off against all odds to try to steal the moon.

And is this going to be 2D or 3D. I hate that Disney just labels them all "animation" now, even though it's true there are those of us who would like to know what's what. I know that their 2D has pretty much closed up shop but I still hear murmerings of a film here and there.

Brother Bear is 2D but was already pretty far into production before the massive layoffs, and Chicken Little is 3D. Home on the Range is 2D but that's about it I believe. I have heard about a few other projects but the only ones that seem to be 2D sound like featurettes or shorts. Lotsa 3D stuff in production though.

Hmm...a boy and his pig...maybe they should just re-use animation from "The Black Cauldron" I'm sure Taran and Hen Wen would fit that mold...

Excellent idea Ben! Please report to Burbank HR Monday morning to get your new corner office as a Disney executive. You've earned it.

Here is my plan. Its based on the "Pirates of the Caribbean" merchandising budget. We budget "Prince and the Pig for 85 million. The problem is it could do a "Pluto Nash" or "Sinbad" and only make 5 million. I'll save the company 80 million dollars by cancelling the picture and save another 20 million by laying off more animators. Therefore I deserve a 50 million dollar bonus. Hey I'm saving the stockholders 50 million dollars that would have been lost if they had made the movie. Put my picture on Forbes and the Disney annual report.

Oh as an afterthought, I'm not even factoring in the money saved on the Disney's California Adventure "Prince and the Pig" real farm petting zoo and swingset attraction that now won't have to be built. I'll throw that savings in for free. You'll hear the rest of my ideas at the managers retreat on the French Riviera this spring. (Hint: A Sharper Image outlet at DCA disguised as a science exhibit.)

I'm sorry Bill but the lawyers haven't gotten back to me on the swingset as there may be too many safety issues involved. Our backup is a sandbox. It would work right into the beach seaside theme of DCA's south side AND we can use all that dirt left over from the XGames dirt bike track. We at Disney know you just can't have to many areas where there is nothing to do other then stand around and watch toddlers play. It will at least be as popular as the Tortilla exhibit. Also we can surround it with food carts. See ya at "The Beach!" And as not to get off the subject of this board we will be piping in the soundtrack from Nemo to give it a Disney theme.

and that's much better than what you would smell with a real sandbox. Boys I think this is a great idea. Look rather than waiting and seeing if it proves beneficial to the company, what say we just move you on up the ladder higher and higher, not waiting for any long term unforseen repercussions so that when they do happen you can just waltz out and become CEO's of your own Clothing Stores? Sound good?

Hey, don't diss the Tortilla Factory. Those folks gave me a bag of tortillas and a recipe book on my birthday. They rock. ;)

I to am a push over for a free warm tortilla. However I'm not happy with the changes being made in the tortilla expo at this time. New entrance, new video....I'm a DCA purist! Bring back the original design! Can't they leave our most popular attractions alone?!?!? ???
