Wow! Here I was expecting this to be a question about why there was no Disney music on iTunes and low and behold, it's an announcement about it finally appearing! What I now want to know is what company finally decided to play nice.... Was it Jobs or Eisner? Thankfully I haven't used any of my Pepsi iTunes songs yet and have a clear credit card......

Bob Cavallo has been pursuing this for quite some time. Mike's tenuous situation allowed Cavallo and David Agnew to convince the few remaining grown ups at Disney that now was the time to join the iTunes/Napster/Etc. party.

Let me just say...

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME!

Luckily, I just got my tax refund back. Unfortunately, I'll be broke next week. :(

Does this mean after 9/30/2004, we will also see Disney music somewhere else?

Here is the news... (from prnewswire.com)

Apple and Walt Disney Records Team Up to Deliver Exclusive Soundtracks on iTunes

CUPERTINO, Calif. and BURBANK, Calif., April 21 /PRNewswire FirstCall/ -- Teaming up to offer the leading collection of digital music for kids, teens and families, Apple® and Walt Disney Records today announced that the catalog of Walt Disney Records, including soundtracks from Disney's classic animated films and Disney/Pixar's computer-animated films, is now available exclusively on the iTunes® Music Store through September 30th.

A new "Disney" genre page within the iTunes Music Store will feature a
wide range of family entertainment including the soundtracks from animated films such as Alice in Wonderland, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Snow White and The Little Mermaid; Disney/Pixar's Toy Story, Toy Story 2, A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo; plus, Disney audio storytellers, theatrical cast recordings and music from up-and-coming stars Raven and Jesse McCartney.

"Now iTunes users can add these timeless Disney songs to their music

music consumer directly," added Bob Cavallo, chairman of BVMG. "We're happy to be in business with Apple."

So exciting! Yet... Where are the theme park albums? The release talks about the entire library, yet they are not to be found. :'(

That, and it is unclear if the agreement is exclusivity until 9/30, or that the songs will only be on iTunes until 9/30... Hmm...

Well, I'm downloading anyway! :)

I, too, am excited, but I find myself asking: Besides a few stories and a Baby Einstein or two, what is available that I don't already have? I imagine MOST of you are noticing the same thing?

Is there a way to see ALL of the album titles in one list? I only know how to look at the daily top 100. :(

Also, I noticed The Rescuers Down Under soundtrack on iTunes seems to NOT include the three The Rescuers bonus songs that are included on the CD release. I didn't check many others for accuracy.

To see the full catalog, click the 'Browse' button in the upper right corner of the iTunes window (it is round and has a colorful eye icon on it -- above where the Music Store pages change). Now, you can browse through everything. I hope they continue to add things, like the parks.

I recently purchased the Ukulele Ike CD from iTunes and I love it. The only problem that I have is that iTunes doesn't supply any of the jewel case insert graphics. :(

If anyone out there has the artwork from the Wonderland version (or the original LP) and a scanner....

...could you please email me the artwork for the insert and the CD label??? Or post it here and I can copy it.

Thanks much!!!

Hi John,
I think you can print the cover with the track listing with iTune 'cause I did it a couple of times. Here is the instruction from iTune website...

Stunning Array of Print Options
iTunes downloads cover art for the music you purchase, so you can easily make an insert for your CD cases. Print the cover for a whole album, along with track listings. If you?ve made a custom mix CD, iTunes creates a mosaic of cover art. You can also print out a listing of songs in a playlist or your library, sorted however you like, or just a simple album list with covers. iTunes designer templates include options for both black & white and color printers. iTunes prints professional-quality registration marks and bleed area.

Matt -

iTunes will only print the booklet, not the tray liner or the CD label. And as Steve mentioned not all of the song titles will fit. So if anyone can help out I would be greatly appreciated.
