I was chatting with my 12 year old son, Ben, this afternoon and he mentioned 2 CDs of Disney instrumentals which were available at Disneyland but not in stores. Anyone know what he might have been talking about? Thanks

There are a couple of possibilities. There are two volumes called Just the Music, which are instrumental versions of songs from the films arranged in a more or less fully orchestrated way. There are also two volumes called Disney Karaoke (or Karaoke Disney) which have instrumental versions of film songs which are almost identical to the actual underscore (some may actually be the same, I'm not sure). I don't think I've seen either of these at the Disney Stores, and that they are available at Disneyland, but I doubt they are exclusive.

I know that they sell the two Disney Karaoke CD's at WDW too, but don't remember if I ever saw them in TDS. The only place I ever saw Just The Music was at DL.
Also, obviously, the CD's made by DL performers (Rod Miller, Sidestreet Strutters, Billy Hill & The Hillbillies, etc) are sold at DL but are MUCH more difficult to find outside the parks.

As odd as it may seem, I found these two CDs at a tourist gift shop in Estes Park, Colorado. They were in with the other "listen to and buy these CD" cases you see popping up everywhere.
One thing I find funny with these CDs is that they are labeled "Just the music" and say in the pullout "This original Disney collection brings you literally 'Just the Music' - ... - without lyrics, words, voices or hamonies." Yet the first song has a choral background.
They are still a good listen.

There's a fantastic WDR American released album from a few years back called Disney's Instrumental Impressions.
It's out of print now, but you usually can find it on ebay.

I go to WDW weekly and check out the CD's every other week or so. As of 2 Saturday's ago, they did not carry the "Just The Music" CD's...but, time permitting (between Hunchback shows at MGM), I'm probably going to double-check tomorrow .
