Disney Bossa Nova Available April 19th on Walt Disney Records

While everyone is excited about the new park CD's, a new Disney CD will be released soon. It seems very interesting :) -Matt

Here is the news release...

BURBANK, CA. (Disney Records) - Brazilian music never sounded so good with a collection of classic Disney songs performed in the suave, romantic musical style of bossa nova - the Brazilian fusion of cool jazz elements with the drum beat characteristics of samba. Lyra and Lobo are considered two of the early innovators of the bossa nova movement in the 1950's.

This is an interesting release. It actually looks like a US release of the Japanese "Bossa Disney" CD released a few years ago. It's a great CD, and worth picking up.

Actually, there have been two Disney Bossa Nova CDs released in Japan, and this one appears to have tracks from both. The originals are still available (try footlight.com), and contain the following tracks:

1. Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
2. In A World Of My Own
3. Under The Sea
4. A Whole New World
5. Reflection
6. Chim Chim Chir-ee
7. He's A Tramp
8. Some Day My Prince Will Come
9. You've Got A Friend In Me
10. When You Wish Upon A Star
11. Winnie The Pooh
12. Circle Of Life
13. Beauty And The Beast

1. Nao E Facil
2. A Voar, A Voar, A Voar
3. Mickey Mouse Club Samba
4. Supercalifragilisticexpialidoso
5. Es Tu O Principe Azul
6. Somente O Necessario
7. Cruela Cruel
8. Cancao De Amor
9. Um Mundo Ideal
10. Parte De Seu Mundo
11. Hi-Ho
12. Parada Electorica Na Rua Principal
13. Ciclo Sem Fim
14. Uma Cancao
15. La La Lu
Bonus Tracks:
16. Micky Mouse Club Samba (remix)
17. Nao E Facil - Amusement Mix (remix)

I like the first disc better, but both have good moments. There are also some pretty funny moments - the "highlight" for me is the Japanese bossa nova version of Chim Chim Cher-ee!
