DCA Animation Building

Sooooooooo...

Does anyone know what the music loop in the Animation building in DCA is? Offhand I know it includes music from Atlantis, Sleeping Beauty, Lion King, Hercules, Tarzan, Cinderella, etc. I don't know the order and would like to recontruct it as a playlist on iTunes. Anyone willing to figure this out?

You know, as many hours as I've spent just lying on a bench in that room, I'm not sure exactly on the details of the loop. :p It's only snippets, and some of them are edits that would be tough to recreate - the intrumental-only ending to A Whole New World, for instance.

Many of the tracks are instrumental and edited versions of songs from the film, but using the film's existing audio could reproduce something quite similar.
In order, the loop is...

The Little Mermaid - Part of That World
Beauty and the Beast - Belle
Fantasia 2000 - Sorcerer's Apprentice
Bambi - Little April Shower
Aladdin - Arabian Nights
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - I've Been Tricked
Atlantis - The Crystal Chamber
The Jungle Book - Bear Necessities
Toy Story 2 - Buster's Entrance
Cinderella - A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes
Mulan - Reflection
Hercules - Go the Distance (reprise)
Tarzan - Two Worlds (reprise)
A Bug's Life - Main Theme
Hunchback of Notre Dame - Bells of Notre Dame (reprise)
Alice in Wonderland - Unbirthday Song
The Emperor's New Groove - Kuzco
Lady and the Tramp - Lady
Lady and the Tramp - He's a Tramp
Sleeping Beauty - Battle with the Forces of Evil
The Lion King - This Land
The Lion King - Circle of Life (reprise)
Pocahontas - Colors of the Wind
Sleeping Beauty - Once Upon a Dream
Aladdin - A Whole New World
Peter Pan - Second Star to the Right
Happily Ever After - When You Wish Upon a Star

Not bad from memory, eh? :)

Wow thanks! I'm sure XFKIRSTEN will be happy to have this for her music loops web page as well.

And yes, good memory. Did you work there or do you just appreciate the attraction?

Go right ahead!

I never worked there, but I'm sure you'll all agree that the routunda is much more than just a lobby. Sitting and watching the loop was just as much a part of the attraction as getting your voice put into a Disney character for myself and my friends.
I'm just naturally good at picking up things. (Like how I freaked out when I heard Gary Indiana on Main Street at the Magic Kingdom, as it doesn't play in Disneyland.) I can hear something a few times before it becomes familiar to me. Such is the case of the Animation Building. I'd love to rebuild the loop, even though it won't be exactly the same. But it's still a project I've put aside for a rainy day.

Wow!

I will call you the master of Disneyland music my friend if you can remember that loop from your head.

By the way MRSMEE when you say you save the loop building for a rainy day, which day might that be since it rains here everyday! ;D

True, it does rain quite often.

I, however, am often hearing another loop altogether during those rainy days. But not to worry, I'll get around to making something that sounds like the loop one of these days...

Oops. Forgot to add "Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee" from Pinocchio. That falls right between Hunchback and Alice.

My bad.

Sorry to bump this old post up, but I just wanted to say what a treat it was to hear Roger Bart singing in the Animation Building! I was in the little gallery to the side of the main rotunda, heard the song, screamed like a little girl, and ran out into the room. People thought I was nuts! But I love my Roger. :)

Ah! Blasphemy!!

Roger sings the voice of young Hercules ("Go the Distance" and the reprise).

He is also a star on Broadway - his most recent shows include The Producers and The Frogs and he is currently a regular on ABC's Desperate Housewives.

Even though he is twice my age I am in love with him. I got to meet him while I was living in NYC and it made my lifetime. :)
So when I heard him singing in DCA, it was bliss.
(I've attached a photo of me with him at The Producers stage door.)

It was also great to hear another one of my idols, Nathan Lane, in Innoventions. Yes, I went in just to hear him and promptly left after. :)

Wasn't Roger Bart also in a short-lived Broadway show with Susan Egan, post-Hercules??? I saw the show, but I've completely forgot the name of it.....

Sharon - was it Triumph of Love?

I keep meaning to buy the OCR for that show, I've heard the score is somewhat good.

Thought I'd bump this thread back up to mention that I'm starting work on rebuilding the Animation Building lobby audio from the ground up. It'll wind up a little different, as I don't have the source audio from all the film's scores (thus, you'll hear vocals on my mix where you might not have heard them in the attraction) but I'm sure you won't mind; as it'll definately have the right feel to it.
Give me some time and it'll happen soon enough.

Also, anyone been in there recently? My last visit was a bit saddening, as they're now playing automated spiels to advertise the goings-on within the building; and it cuts off the bgm for a while... Boo... :(
