Just got a heads-up email from amazon a few days ago about this CD, which looks like a new release--thought some of you might be interested.
Of course I became a Riders fan because of Toy Story 2, which then helped to dust off all those Roy Rogers memories from "a few years ago"..... I first picked up Riders' "Best of the West Rides Again" CD, which is a nice compilation, including covers of "Pecos Bill" and "Blue Shadows on the Trail." It got me started again with "cowboy music," which then naturally led me back to Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers. I still have my old 78 Golden Record of Roy's "The Old Chisolm Trail"--and you know, I still love that song! Greg Ehrbar, if you're listening, thanks for helping to bring back some vintage Golden Records to CD(particularly Roy's--my Old Chisolm Trail record is a mite scratchy!).
Riders' Davy Crockett CD sounds interesting--a little short, but I've got to hear "Be Sure You're Right" and "Old Betsy"--still have the Golden Record of these songs too, sung by none other than Jimmie Dodd and the Frontier Men.
Time to dig out the coonskin hats(my nephew somehow has mine--have to talk to Mom about that.....)--here's the link to the CD:

P. S. This CD might make a nice matching "bookend" to one of the latest Wonderland releases, "Cowboy and Indian Songs--Fess Parker".
P. S. #2 Randy--since we're talkin' cowboy, we need Stan Jones' "Creakin' Leather", WDL-3015--have to have "Ghost Riders in the Sky" on CD!!!
