The last several times I've been waiting outside Soarin' Over California (in DCA) with my child-switch pass, I've noticed the music that is played (over and over and over) in the area.

The music is quite familiar (certainly now ... but it was familiar
even the first time). However, I can't remember where I've heard the tunes before.

The music sounds like it is from various film soundtracks.

Any help here?

The disneymusicloops site provides a great deal of information about this loop, and I believe that I can fill in a few of the gaps. For instance, "633 Squadron" and "The Guns of Navarone" are both featured on a London CD titled "The Guns of Navarone: Music from World War II films" as part of their Cinema Gala series.
Okay, in going to update the site, I've still been unable to find the "Guns of Navarone" CD with 633 Squadron on it. Anyone know if Amazon even carries this at all?

Thanks! Of course, all the search strings I tried for it wouln't quite work, just my luck. :p

Yeah, it is really hard to tell which versions are correct for it. That's probably been the hardest part about trying to collect all these CD links!

Now that Soarin' is finally available, any chance that a decent version of the Condor Flats loop will 'materialize'?

O.K. So, I was walking through the Condor Flats portion of DCA last weekend and I heard what I think is either a Copland piece or John Williams ripping off Copland again The piece goes:

Bah bah Bah
bah bah bah ba
bah bah bah bah ba
bah

Like anyone's gonna understand that... Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knew if they have new BGM in that area (don't know if I was hearing the Condor Flats area music or the Soarin' queue music). There aren't any tracks on the old list that would fit the bill.

TIA!

Here are some new observations on the Condor Flats Loop...

First, the list culled from Jason Schultz's 2001 post on this board which identified the various tracks (here with some minor corrections):

1. The Last Starfighter - Main Title (Craig Safan) 1:33
2. I Love a Parade - Midway March - John Williams (Boston Pops) 4:09
3. Air Force One - The Parachutes (Jerry Goldsmith) 1:48
4. Air Force One - Welcome Aboard Sir (Jerry Goldsmith) 1:25
5. I Love a Parade - Pops on the March - John Williams (Boston Pops) 4:51
6. American Jubilee - Liberty Fanfare - John Williams (Cincinnati Pops) 4:17
7. 633 Squadron - Ron Goodwin (London Festival Orchestra) 3:16
8. The Last Starfighter - Big Victory March: Alex Returns (Craig Safan) 1:54
9. Masters Film Music - The Blue Max Suite - Overture (Jerry Goldsmith) 2:16
10. Star Tracks II - SpaceCamp - John Williams (Cincinnati Pops) 3:58
11. The Planets - Jupiter - Gustav Holst (Karajan/Berlin Philharmonic) 7:27
12. The Right Stuff - Yeager's Triumph - Bill Conti (London Symphony Orch.) 5:09
13. The Guns of Navarone - Dmitri Tiomkin (London Festival Orchestra) 3:12

Six of the thirteen selections are heard in unedited form: 2, 5, 6, 7, 12, 13. The other tracks are shortened from the original recordings, some only slightly (eg., just the final note cut from the end of SPACECAMP) and others more significantly (tracks 3 and 4 combine excerpts from two cues on the AIR FORCE ONE soundtrack). Note that the running times of the individual tracks are from Jason's original post, and are not perfectly accurate, though close.

I was at DCA a couple weeks ago, and while walking through the Condor Flats area, I believe I heard the first two songs in EPCOT's Soarin' BGM, "Explorers" and "The Right Stuff". However, this is contrary to the tracklist member thx99 assembled for the Condor Flats loop, which only includes "The Right Stuff", leading me to believe the loop got switched to WDW's Soarin' BGM. I do not remember hearing any other tracks that would be in EPCOT's loop, and I did not stay around the area long enough to hear what would play after "The Right Stuff". Can anyone shed some light on Condor Flat's (possibly new) BGM?

Thanks in advance!

Nothing to add other than that I too am interested in knowing if a new Condor Flats loop is being used at DCA. I'd hate to see the original one go, but if it indeed has, I couldn't think of a better loop to replace it than the one from Soarin' [with it's still unidentified version of the Battlestar Galactica theme... ].

A REAL collector would have made the ID years ago...

In the past, I have heard the theme from "Explorers", as well as the theme from "Patton" playing outside the "Soarin" ride! And I have never heard any music from the film "Air force one". I have the CD, and listen to it all the time. It's not there at all.

Are you referring to the Soarin' attraction at EPCOT, or Soarin' Over California at Disney's California Adventure?

Explorers is heard in the queue loop for EPCOT's Soarin', but has not been included in any of the DCA loops in or around Soarin' Over California: the old Condor Flats area music loop, the new Condor Flats area music loop, or the Soarin' Over California queue loop.

Patton is heard in the Soarin' Over California queue loop at DCA as part of Goldsmith's "Generals Suite", featuring music from both Patton and MacArthur. However, Patton is not included in the queue loop for EPCOT's Soarin', unless there has been a recent change. [As an aside, music from the OST of MacArthur is heard as part of the new Condor Flats area music loop.]

Air Force One was heard in the old Condor Flats area music loop at DCA and is heard in the queue loop for EPCOT's Soarin' (two tracks edited together, in fact), unless there has been a recent change.
