How about some recognition for all the wonderful work Thurl Ravenscroft and the Mellowmen have given us over the years: the theme from "Gallegher"(written by the Shermans); the theme from the Hardy Boys series, "Gold Doubloons and Pieces of Eight"; the theme from "The Saga of Andy Burnett". None of these pieces have ever been released in any format to my knowledge(the versions performed by the Mellowmen). Michael.

WOW - great suggestions, I really hope they will come up with such a compilation one day.

But to be honest I fear that a Classic Disney Vol. 6 CD would be aimed at the mass market just as much as the prior released Vol. 1 - 5.
In other words: the CD would have to have all the recent or more recent Disney hit songs on it and only a few lesser known songs / tracks in between.
So I think if we would want to come up with a list of tracks that Disney could propable release we should try to start off with the "boring" stuff (as far as us collectors is concerned) and spice it up with some of the rare stuff you all suggested. So maybe we could take dfans list and mix a few more rare tracks in...

I think "That's What Makes the World Go 'Round" from The Sword in the Stone can replace it

Isn't that exactly why they discontinued the Classic Disney CDs and relased Disney's Greatest instead? There weren't enough widely-known popular Disney songs left they could've included on further volumes of Classic Disney.

HI Sami - to be honest: I don't know or at least don't remember wether this was stated back then. But to me this would mean that they could restart the series after a hiatus when they got enough new memorable hit-tunes the normal customer remembers. But: now that the have discontinued the series and have started another one it is by far more propable that they will release 5 volumes of "Greatest Hits" and have enough of the before described material for a Greatest Hits Vol. 6 once 1 to 5 are on sale.

What I would really like to see

What I would REALLY like to see (and I suspect this is true for most of you as well) is a CD or CDs consisting ENTIRELY of material PREVIOUSLY UNAVAILABLE ON CD.

I really don't care what they call it - "Classic Disney VI", "Disney's Greatest Hits III", "Vault Disney Collection", "Randy's Restored Rarities", etc.

It's just that with a wishlist of well over 200 unreleased songs, releasing a few I don't have on a compilation where I already have most of the material can get a little tiresome, considering I already have numerous compilations (not to mention the original soundtracks for the films that have available soundtracks).

I thought the Classic Disney series was promising because each one had more "previously unreleased" material than the previous one. The first two volumes of "Disney's Greatest Hits" had NOTHING new. Come to think of it, I think that is probably better than if there would have been a "token" rare track, because then we would have had to buy 24 songs we already had just in order to get the one we didn't.

So, my solution is to keep producing the "Disney's Greatest Hits" for the newbies and masses, BUT, throw a bone to the longtime hard-core fans by releasing one or two volumes consisting ENTIRELY of material *PREVIOUSLY UNAVAILABLE ON CD*. That would be the SELLING POINT for the album! They could market this as an audio companion to the Vault Disney DVD collection and give it the same title.

This would put a much bigger dent in our "wish-lists" in a much shorter time frame than an entire series of the more traditional compilations could.
