Bruce Broughton Scores Half of EPCOT

Bruce Broughton scores half of EPCOT.

So, after hearing that he has scored the new film for the Canada Circlevision film, and that he is going to score the newly refurbished Spaceship Earth, that's a lot of Bruce Broughton at EPCOT!

There will be four attractions in the park that he has composed the music for, and then there's the area music that has some of his film scores in it. It's interesting that there is such a high density of his compositions at EPCOT. I'm looking forward to hearing what he's done for the "new" Canada and SSE.

Let's just hope the new music (as well as some of the existing music) is released for us to enjoy.

They really need to get their act together before things are signed, Disney - pay a little extra now so it can be released in full later.

Spaceship Earth does not need a new score, it already has the best score in the entire resort......

Nonetheless it's getting new scenes, new narration, and a new score. I think I'd prefer whatever Broughton scores anyway. I like the current SSE score, but more by association. I tend to really like Broughton's stuff regardless of what it's used for.

So is it going to be a "Pirates"-like makeover--the attraction's heart and soul essentially stays the same? Any more details???

I'll miss Jeremy Irons.....Bruce Broughton is always welcome.

Does anyone know if "O Canada" will still be used in the new Canada film? I love that song. When will the film debut?

Why am I having a premonition of Patrick Stewart doing the narration? He does seem to be thier new favorite voice over guy.

Hmm. Well, he is rather 'engaging', don't you think?

I also heard (read?) that an updated version of Tomorrow's Child will be part of the SSE renovation.

Of course, we all know that memorable music and specifically songs are a great part of a Disney attraction, but I wonder if WDI is relearning that too. While I understand that Tomorrow's Child would sound a bit dated nowadays, if done right it would make a big impression on many guests. If Rumors are correct, the new film being done for Canada will include the O' Canada (You're a Lifetime Journey). They brought back One Little Spark, and even the new Disneyland Nemo Subs are very musical. I had just listened to the DAK Nemo CD the day I rode the subs, and when I was finished riding I couldn't remember if the attraction actually contained any of the songs or if I just found myself subconciously singing them as we rode. I know Dory does sing just keep swimming (the CD version) just a bit, and I believe there's a bit of Big Blue World in there too. Also love the "Across the Sea" unload music- kinda Jazzy, I sat there in the sub waiting to unload and thinking, "I feel like I'm in Tomorrowland again". Here's hoping that WDI really is moving towards more songs in our Parks!
