Brother Bear Opening

I don't know if anyone else in the NY or LA area had this problem, but ordering tickets was next to impossible for the opening night at the Ziegfeld. One phone number directed you to call back during operating hours. The other phone number directed you to Moviefone with a theatre express code but when you called, it said "There are currently no showtimes for the Ziegfeld" If you used the website, it forwarded you to
Clearview Cinemas/Moviefone website and would show all of the opening day showtimes were sold out. During the day, however only the 7:45 show would be sold out. The tickets were listed as $10. but I bought them for $7. Meanwhile, a friend saw the "sold out" and didn't bother going back.

Tonight I went to the showing and it was probably less than 1/5 full. Not surprising when you had to jump through many hoops and have the determination of an Olympian to actually get a hold of the tickets.

On the positive side, the audience that did manage to get tickets seemed to react well to the film.

Yeah, I went with Bill and had a good time. It was kind of sad that the theater was not even close to full, but I can see why since it was frustrating to get tickets.

I enjoyed the movie probably as much as I did Tarzan. It was also funny to see a woman wearing a "Moose Crossing" t-shirt rip part of a cardboard display apart and stuff it in her sweater...talk about "hard-core"!

It's my understanding that Disney.com was giving away free tickets to see Brother Bear at the AMC Theater at Pleasure Island in WDW. I didn't pay much attention to it but happened to pass by the theater on Saturday night....not only was there signage for special parking for the event, but it took up a whole WING of the theater (it's a 24 plex) and it was PACKED inside.

HI Sharon,

I was unaware of the special promotion but saw Brother Bear at the AMC in Downtown Disney at 12.25 that night when the event definitely had ended allready. Still we had a rather surprising large number of guests in the theatre if you consider the time - about 40 or 50 at least.

I heard there's going to be a Haunted Mansion promotion too, but rumor has it that it won't be at the PI AMC. Dunno why.
