Arabian Nights Movie Version

Quick question was this song ever released on cd with the line "They cut off your ear if they don't like your face" to the movie line?

I searched, but didn't find an answer.

If it was released, is there anyway to tell from the packaging without listening to the cd? (Just in case I actually run across it somewhere)

yeah it was originally released that way. I believe the change came when the film went to home video so there were plenty of Soundtracks sold with the original version. I have a cassette copy but I have no idea how to tell the difference just by looking at the packaging.

Yes, I have the original soundtrack version, and it's got the unchanged lyrics. The change did happen when it went to home video, and all subsequent soundtrack releases have had the revised lyrics. I have no idea if there is a way to tell by the catalog numbers on the CD if it's the new version or not. I know the original cover art did not change for a while, so you might have to take a guess. Look at used record stores where they might let you open and listen to them before you buy. That way you can make sure.

Thanks guys! ;D I'll keep a look out, all I needed to know if it was released at all. I have a original release, so I just need the one with the changed lyrics.

A used copy of the original CD release is pretty easy to find too. I grabbed mine for a couple bucks a year ago.
