Anyone want to guess about the WDW OA(s)?

Happy Mardi Gras to all,

Anyone want to guess what might be included on the WDW OA (hopefully a double album or discs for each park)?

Besides the standards (HM, Splash, etc.), do you think it will also contain music from the past or just current attraction/show music?

I don't think it will be marketed as a "historical" release (maybe Randy can correct me on that), so I doubt any retired attraction or area music will be included, unless it's in the form of a "nod".

I'm sure we'll get some music from the new attractions, such as Cinderellabration, Stitch's Great Escape, Soarin', and Lights! Motors! Action! stunt show. I'm hoping that with the larger album format we'll also see some selections from World Showcase (El Rio del Tiempo and Wonders of China would be fun).

With all of the theme park releases coming out this spring/summer, this is the most music we've had to anticipate at one time since the Disney Forever collections.

The Remember the Magic Finale from Fantasy in the Sky!!!!

Come on, I KNOW I'm not the only one who wants a good recording of this song. It's got everything, great orchestration, great vocals, clip of Walt talking and in general is an awesome song!

-Rick

PS: Anyone have the music from "Ears to You" (even if it is live?) THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!

1. All Aboard! (Main Street)
2. Flitterin
3. Freind Like Me
4. Bear Band Serenade
5. Grim Grinning Ghosts
6. Yo Ho (A Pirates Life For Me)
7. Share A Dream Come True (Medly)
8. Maple Leaf Rag.
9. There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
10.SpectroMagic Medly
11. Electrical Water Pageant
12. Wishes
I know it's not a 4-park list but this is all I could think of

How about some great orchestral music from the parks, such as:

Ellen's Energy Adventure score
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience score
One Man's Dream overture
Timekeeper score (this may be our last chance for this one)
Epcot Entrance theme -- the current theme, not "Energy"!!
Wonders of China score
Mission: Space score

I'll second just about everything on the good Dr.'s list (like Bruce Broughton much?)

Ellen's Energy Adventure score- Perhaps another piece than the one that's been floating around forever. Love the load music into the main show. Also love the piece that plays over the big bang film segment.
One Man's Dream overture- Of the current attractions, this would be at the top of my list.
Timekeeper score (this may be our last chance for this one)- score or the overture from the queue area
Music from Stitch, Philharmagic, maybe another selection from Tiki Room Under New Management?

Is Soarin' going to have a new score or just the DCA version?

I totally would want to see the One Man's Dream Overture from the Walt Disney Theater added in the upcoming WDW OA. Either that, or the Mixture music in Color 1 & 2 at OMD. I believe the loop is only 4 or 5 songs, I know it starts off with The Mary Poppins Overture and fades into The Mirror Maze from the 1964 WF Disc.

Sonny Delight from Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe

Do you mean Sonny Eclipse? They had one of his songs on the last one or the one before that I think. I would love to hear more of that. Also how about some stuff from the Diamond Horseshoe days??? Some of it has to be on BGM over there.

a full SpaceShip Earth Ride-Thru or Orchestral Medley would ROCK!!
(that's my request!)
maybe Walter Kronkite and Jeremy Irons? (I can dream, can't I?)

*Tommy

ps- Cinderellabration will be BEAUTIFUL!

The Offical Albums have always presented current material. I don't think we will see any oldies on THIS set, and frankly, there are so many current attractions at WDW for which we have NO official audio that there's more than enough to fill out a two-disc set.

As for the oldies, how about A MUSICAL HISTORY OF EPCOT........ ahem, Mr. Thornton?

Jim

Cool .... Thanks for replying.

I really hope the DL & WDW (OA's) do very well. If they do better than expected, maybe the suits in Burbank will listen to Randy Thorton and the fans and release more Disney Theme Park music/shows.

I personally would like to hear the Dinosaur complete show and BGM. Also, ToT pre show (CD quality).

My Holy Grail is all the IllumiNations versions on one Disc (past to present).

Enjoy Life,

I agree with Chuck on the ToT pre show recording and even the music from the actual ride. The music from the 5th dimension is included on the concept track but the Corridor scene has never been released. I think that would be a great ride thru to include on the 6 disc set!

Actually Rick, the Tower of Terror music on the past OA's is actually played in the Exit Corridor of the attraction next to Echo and Foxtrot's unload. I should know, I used to stand right there... ;)

What about seasonal parades?Re:Anyone want to guess about the WDW OA(s)?

Hey ... do ya think that maybe the seaonal parade music might be included?

Like, MNSSHP (Halloween) music and the Christmas Party?

I'm getting so stoked about all the upcoming Disnsey Theme Park music that is being released!

Sensory overload is on the horizon...

Later,

-Chuck

It would seem to me that it would make more business sense to not include the seasonal music on the Official Album, a product that will be sold year-round, and perhaps sell a separate album (ala what Disneyland did a few years back) including all of the seasonal music.

The most money-making on Disney's part would be to release the seasonal stuff on separate singles disc, but would require more shelf space in the retail stores.

Why not release a disc with the seasonal music on it?

It seems that TDL and DLP release a disc with parade/show/seasonal every 4.2 weeks (I'm guessing and joking here).

Bottom line is that the Burbank suits want cash flow and there is a cash flow with Disney music ... the suits just need to realize that!

For goodness sake, we all just want more music ... and I realize we are getting a bunch w/ the DL box set and the WDW double disc ... But since Pandora's Box is going to be opened with the new stuff, it makes me crave even more .... We Americans are never satisfied (lol), we want more and lots of it.

Burbank give us what we want! And even more!

If you release it, we will buy it!!

(excuse me ... while I get off the soap box) ;)

Burbank may be more of the philosophy "If you release it, they will download it".

But yes this year does look to be shaping up mighty fine.
