Animal Kingdom - Africa Music

Hello Everyone!

I'm new here, and I must say that I'm very glad to have discovered this forum.

I have a question that I'm hoping somebody here might be able to help me out with:

I'm really interested in trying to find a track listing (song name/performing group) for the music loop played in Animal Kingdom's Africa. You can hear the loop playing throughout Harembe -- most notably right outside of Mombasa Marketplace. Of course, I'm also interested in locating good quality recordings of the tracks as well. I love that collection of music ... it just really encapsulates the "feel" of that area of the park.

I bought the Animal Kingdom CD produced by Disney hoping that some of the music might have made its way on to it, but it's mostly the music composed for the Tree of Life area. I meant to check the Walt Disney World Forever kiosks before I left the park, but forgot to do so.

Can anyone out there help me out? I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance ...

Ron,

The original discussion board had at least a couple of threads on AK music loops. The one talked about in particular was the loop that played near the pizzafari area. I don't remember anything in particular playing in the Africa area, but you might reference the following tracks from the pizzafari area just in case what you heard in Africa matches up. AFAIK all these CD are still in print. I only remember these because I own the CDs. I bought them because I wanted to recreate the "environment" at the park. Amazon has some samples:

Balafon Marimba Orchestra (Also played at Adventureland MK)
"Caderas"
"I alreday have a husband"

Outback - Dance the Devil Away
"Aziz Aziz"

Outback - Baka
"Baka"

The music played on the Safari ride is from African Dawn
"Hapa Duniani" (The sample on Amazon is too short)

There are also a bunch of songs done on marimbas that were played solely in the Pizzafari vicinity (e.g. Old McDonald). They were available on the WDW (not) Forever system. I doubt if they would have played those in Africa.

That's all I remember for now. Hopefully someone else will know more.

Let us know if anything matches what you heard! When I drop by the park in July, I'll keep an ear out for that loop.

Alex,

Thanks for all the information! None of these tracks match up with the music I'm specifically looking for, but they're great nonetheless! If anyone else out there might be able to help me with any of the music from Africa please let me know. In the meantime I'm thinking I just might order some of these cd's!

Alex, thank you so much--I was just getting ready to post a question to help me identify the group singing on the Safari ride radio, sounding like, "ya-woo-woo-woo, ya-woo-woo-woo"--I thought it might be Ladysmith Black Mambazo, but apparently it's African Dawn?? That's the only song, I believe, coming over the radio on the safari. Another CD available in the park is Show Me The Way, by Wassalou, who perform regularly at Harmabe--this CD certainly transports you RIGHT to Harambe! Thank you for helping in my current quest--Michael.

I am looking for the song "Hapa Duniani" from Kilamanjaro Safaris. Is there any other CD which
it is availble on? African Dawn is out of print. Does anyone have an mp3 of the song?
