6 Disc Set and DelivEars Delay

Has anyone who ordered their set from DelivEars actually heard anything positive yet about when they would DEFINITELY be shipped?

I ordered my LE with gold vinyl bright and early during the first 5 minutes that orders were being taken by DelivEars - on Tuesday morning, May 3.

While it was a little disappointing that they said it wouldn't ship until Monday, May 9, at least they said I would have the set no later than Friday, May 13.

So I figured I was still better off than I would have been had I ordered it from Disney Direct and got stuck in a four week (or longer) backorder limbo, or worst, not even gotten the gold vinyl.

This was why I ordered from DelivEars in the first place, since I knew DL would have the "lion's share" of LE's.

During a routine phone call Tuesday, May 10, in which I expected them to confirm that it was shipped on Monday, May 9, I was told that my set still hadn't been shipped yet, but that it would be within the next "day or two".

As of this morning, Thursday, May 12, ONE DAY before my set was supposed to be in my CD player, I was told that it still hadn't shipped, but that they were "hoping" to ship it on Friday, May 13, and that "hopefully" I would have it by Friday May 20.

I asked what the problem was, did they not have enough of the gold vinyl versions still around the park to ensure that their customers could get the LE.

I was assured that everyone who ordered the gold vinyl from DelivEars would get the gold vinyl. I was told the reason for the shipping delay is that DelivEars did not have boxes "big enough" in which to ship the set.

So I guess it has taken them almost a week to locate boxes "big enough" in which to ship out this highly acclaimed, long-awaited boxed set to passionate fans who are dying to get their hands on it ASAP!

At this rate, it looks like I'll be seeing Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith before I'll get to listen to this long awaited boxed set!

If I seem impatient, it's because I've NEVER looked forward to anything this much before or wanted anything this badly. Well, other than looking forward to actual Disney park trips.

If any other DelivEars customers hear any news, good or bad, about their order, please feel free to post it here.

Hi David S.,

For some reason, it seems to me that items ordered from DL are taking a while to move through the mail. I ordered the 2CD set and a hat at the end of April and have been told that the items have shipped. But they have not arrived yet. Well, I guess it will be a nice surprise when they do arrive. :)

Another kinda funny related story... I ordered the 2CD set from WDW and was told I can expect its arrival in 8 to 10 weeks! Yup, that's up to 3 months! :D

Looks like a pending charge has been added to my credit card so maybe they are finally beginning to mail them out. What a wait this has been!

Hopefully they'll begin arriving next week but I won't hold my breath!

I ordered mine bright and early on the 3rd as well. I am pretty upset that they just keep pushing the shipping day back. I have been calling every day complaining to them. I am actually quite angry to say the least, they should have realized that considering the crowd this set is geared towords there would be a huge demand for it. AHH just had to vent. Hopefully they ship soon!!

I ordered the WDW 2-CD set and got it one week after placing the order. pretty nice. I ordered a book in the same order but it arrived damaged. Some genius put a hard bound book in a bubble wrap envelope.

Wow, that's amazing that you got the 2 CD WDW set from WDW so fast and Matt was told 8 - 10 weeks.

That's the sort of inconsistent thing that made me hesitant to go with Disney Direct for the boxed set.

In that LONG thread about ordering the boxed set that literally appeared overnight, it seems some people were told they would get the gold vinyl and it would ship immediately.

Then someone would post they were put on a backorder list.

Then AFTER that, someone else would post that they were able to order the set, etc.

Then someone else got "backorder" or "ships in 4 weeks", etc.

It seemed the availability status of a NON BACKORDER limited edition kept changing every few posts!

I figured I'd use some "strategy" and go with DelivEars instead of DisneyDirect, as I've gotten some stuff from them in the past in a timely manner, and I figured if I ordered right away they could ship in a timely manner, since after all, I'd be getting it from the source with the "lion's share".

LOL, from reading of the success some of you had getting the boxed set already from WDW, it looks like I should have just gotten it from them.

I guess I figured they had fewer units and thus less of a chance to get the gold vinyl from WDW. And the lack of a toll-free number didn't help ;)

Oh well, hopefully DelivEars will find boxes large enough to ship our sets soon!

In the meantime, I might use Rytheguy's strategy of calling them every day to check on the status of my set. (Politely, of course ;))

I calle dgain today and they siad... r u ready for this?... THEY SHIPPED! I wanted o try and get my shipping money back because of the delay but I was unsucessful, I am happy now though ;D

Yes, I also called today and I was told they processed the orders yesterday and sent them to the shipping department today. They said I could have it as early as "the middle of next week", which would be great.

I suggested they ship the sets "next day air" due to the delay, but I don't think they bought it :)

David, I called and suggested the same thing-that all of us deserve upgrades on the shipping, and, like you, I got no response either! To me, it is something they should have been willing to do considering the delay, the box size fiasco, etc., etc.

Well, on the bright side-we will FINALLY get a set!

Do we have an update on this?

Were the sets shipped Friday or today? And they're supposed to come in mid-week this week? I'm really getting anxious for mine to come in...it's killing me! Has anyone gotten theirs yet that ordered from DeliverEars?

Mine finally arrived today from DelivEars. I am in Tennessee so heads up to those in my neck of the woods-yours should be arriving soon.

It's a lovely set. Mine is number 441.

Mine came today (I'm in CT) via UPS but for some reason DeliverEars requested that I sign for it, and because I wasn't home when the truck arrived, I missed it!!!! I can't believe it! UPS will be back tomorrow and I have to wait 1 more day. Oh the agony! :(

Mine didn't come today at all :(

I'm assuming UPS would have left a slip if they tried when I wasn't home.

Thanks for the heads up about needing to be home.

I guess I'll be home all day tomorrow, LOL!

Gosh, Im sure glad I got "ahead of the crowd" and ordered mine through the mail....instead of actually driving a mere hour down to the park and picking one up in person....Id actually be listening to it by now :/

So yes, despite ordering it immediately and early the initial day it was offered, it will now be late JUNE before I get it.

CALL THEM! I had virtually the same thing told to me over the phone yesterday. I asked to speak to a supervisor and the supervisor said "I assure you we will have one to your home later today." Maybe that's why mine was second day air. Was anyone elses?

OK, well I just called and was told that I will have it "by the end of the month". The rep said it was a "legal requirement" that they send out those notices because the product had not yet arrived in their warehouse.

I just said OK. I am not much of a fighter... I would worry more about them "accidentally losing" my order if I tried to take too strong a stance about it.

I'll be sure to post when (if) it finally arrives.
