    What About Those iTunes Releases?

The rights holders are often so reluctant to release classic material that I would be happy with any version of iTunes so long as it is officially released -- the sooner the better. The longer the wait, the greater chance that it will never come out at all - or unfavorable conditions will cycle...

    What About Those iTunes Releases?

Me too! Hey, Randy - - We haven't seen an iTunes Disneyland/Vista catalog release since last January (WDL Sleeping Beauty)! I'm sure you are cooking up other good things but I'm starting to fret about the MIA Annette LPs and soundtracks. We need 'em all! Hope there is some word on more...

    Wonderful World of Colour

Happy to help! It's one of my favorite tracks too -- and very meaningful. Beyond the priceless nostalgic value, the 1967 lyrics are almost a "mission statement" for Walt Disney's body of work and what it stood for.

    Wonderful World of Colour

The original soundtrack 1967 version "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" theme with complete lyrics was licensed by Disney to TV Tunes some years back and can be found on "Television's Greatest Hits Vol 4: Black and White Classics" - - CD is now out of print but quite common used. Track is...

Where Does this Song Come From?

Disneyland LP "This Was the West" (1958). Stan Jones wrote many western songs for the Disney TV series (not sure which one this was from - if any).

    Sleeping Beauty Album on iTunes

Re: Oh yeah, iTunes Greg - - thanks for posting this link. I've been looking, but the album does not show up on iTunes search engine for Sleeping Beauty - only the other CD.

Is There a Soundtrack of Cinderella with Brandy?

    >>What would be the point of having 2 major recording stars in a musical movie and then not selling the soundtrack? If the reason it was never released was that the recording costs are too high, that means they were too high compared to what the Company projected they would sell in CD's. Pretty sad.

Is There a Soundtrack of Cinderella with Brandy?

They never issued a soundtrack CD - - likely due to all the recording contract issues/royalties with Brandy and Houston. Lesley Ann Warren version is better anyway.

    A Country Coyote Goes Hollywood

I have that single - - minus the picture sleeve. Fun song. I remember the show well from frequent runs on The Wonderful World of Color. Can't help but think of Chico now that I live near Hollywood and hear the coyotes howl back at the sirens during the night.

    Sleeping Beauty Album on iTunes

Re: Oh yeah, iTunes I LOVE that WDL album - - thanks Randy. Too bad we couldn't get the Mary Martin and Darlene and The Commanders and Camarata tracks too while the Sleeping Beauty gravy train was moving through - - but I'm happy and grateful for whatever you can do!

    New Disney Albums on iTunes?

Re: i tunes? Thanks for letting us know. I hope new titles come soon as possible. By research, do you mean legal issues primarily? If there is ever any danger of you leaving or the program ending, please skip the restoration and just dump as many masters as you can online all at once! (I...

Question for Randy ~ The Aristocats Soundtrack CD

The European CD soundtrack of The Aristocats is well-worth finding (includes some of the score) and comes with several different covers. And the older European CD of Sleeping Beauty is a must - - it is the full version of the original Disneyland/Buena Vista stereo soundtrack LP with the...

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

Here's some more fun info on the awesome "Disneyland Showtime" episode of "Wonderful World of Disney" (in which Kids of the Kingdom appeared): http://jimattulgeywood.blogspot.com/2007/1...neyland_31.html http://jimattulgeywood.blogspot.com/2007/1...ery-afraid.html

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

Not that that has 'edgier' anything to do with Disney music. How special for you to provide that context for all of us on a Disney Music Message Board.

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

Well, when it comes to Walt Disney entertainment, there's no reason not to be corn-holed... "The critics think I'm corny. Well, I am corny. As long as people respond to it, I'm okay." - - Walt Disney "We're selling corn. And I like corn." - - Walt Disney ?When I was a kid, a book I read...

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

I think 'Hallelujah Trail' is one of the better tracks on the Kids of the Kingdom LP, followed by 'California.' Sadly, their signature "This Land is Your Land' is not on the album. There are two other Buena Vista LPs of this nature, with perhaps even better material: "The Mike Curb...

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

If you watched the American Idol finale last week - - the opening number with all the kids dressed in white, harmonizing and grooving in a safe-funky-sexy-wholesome way - - that number was SO like Kids of the Kingdom. Given that Idol moment, I think the format is ripe to return to Disneyland...

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

Even better, if you can find it, is "Disneyland Showtime," a 1970 episode of "The Wonderful World of Disney" that celebrates the opening of The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. It was the last of the great filmed shows about Disneyland and features Kurt Russell, The Osmonds, EJ Peaker and yes...

Kids of the Kingdom Disneyland LP Question

If you like The Mike Curb Congregation, The Johnny Mann Singers, Up With People!, The Osmonds, The Carpenters, The Cowsills, The Partridge Family, The New Christy Minstrels, Lawrence Welk, The Archies, The New Mouseketeers and The Brady Kids, you'll probably like Kids of the Kingdom. I love 'em!
