- Notes
-
This loop could be heard all around the Zebra Mezzanine and Main Salon areas of the club.
While I haven't located the original sound effects LP yet, Radio Tuning Effect Nos 1-3 can be found on The Apples' The Power EP, track 4, Samples & Scratches, from 3:04 to 3:16.
Track 03, I'm Crazy Over You, is missing a vocal by Bing Crosby.
Inexplicably, Benny Goodman and Dan Seymour song intros have been "Frankensteined" onto Artie Shaw recordings, with wrong titles, and even calling out the wrong vocalist, Martha Tilton, for what is actually a Helen Forrest performance. Stardust further includes the addition of a waiter dropping a tray of dishes followed by laughter. Bizarre "busy work" by someone wanting to pad their hours? What's especially nutty about all of this is that the Camel Caravan Broadcast from which the intros were lifted actually took place in November of 1937, making it ideal for the Adventurers Club.
A second disc was part of the loop for a while, possibly unofficially, comprised mainly of tracks from Glenn Miller's In the Digital Mood (1983). Attentive "1937 listeners" could hear telephone touch tones at the end of Pennsylvania 6-5000 — oops! The listing presented here comes from listening by ear in a very crowded and noisy Main Salon while scribbling notes on paper. Upon returning with recording equipment, in the club's closing days, the disc had vanished.
It's worth noting that a good many of the tracks in this loop were recorded and made popular well after 1937. So much for Disney's legendary attention to detail!
