Reflections of Earth/Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremony

Brilliant! I am slapping my forehead for not checking for a Wikipedia entry on the opening ceremony. I can rest easy now. :D Thank you. Have you heard the Olympic ceremony score? Any thoughts on it? --Scott :)

Reflections of Earth/Vancouver Olympics Opening Ceremony

If you are a fan of the Millennium Celebration at Epcot, especially the music from Reflections of Earth and the Tapestry of Nations/Dreams, you should definitely check out the music from the Opening Ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics. When I watched the ceremony on TV, I kept hearing a familiar...

No Score Album for Disneynature's Earth?

Hello there! Thanks for the pointer, but from what I understand, the score for the film is totally new. It's hard for me to tell from the clips, though. Perhaps someone familiar with the score from "Planet Earth" who has seen "Earth" can say definitively? In any case, thanks! The "Planet...

No Score Album for Disneynature's Earth?

Howdy! Is it me, or is there no score album release on the horizon for the new Disneynature film "Earth"? It's a shame, too -- the music is quite spectacular, and I'm sure would appeal to score buffs, classical enthusiasts, and even just fans of the film. Does anyone out there have any...

Giacchino's Space Mountain music now online!

Erik -- thanks so much! I'm really enjoying the show. How did you obtain the Space Mountain music with opening that we all love so much? And where did you learn your background information? Have you interviewed MG? Thanks! :)

a song to melt the heart. Beautiful and gone.

Took the words right out of my mouth. "Space" and "Omnisphere" are my favorite orchestral pieces of all time. :) Boy, do I miss Horizons. :'(

How do your organize your theme park music?

I'm a little confused by your question -- if the folders are outside of iTunes, try creating a playlist in iTunes (name it 1970s or whatever) and drag the folder over the playlist in the sidebar. It adds all the files in that folder for me. Alternative: if these songs are already in the iTunes...

Space Mtn soundtrack sounds good while riding!!!!

Ooooo! I am sooo jealous! I do hope they work out the sound issues, though. ::) Nothing was more frustrating than getting a train without music. That goes ditto for California Screamin'! Why is the audio seen as non-essential enough to put a train out there that isn't functioning properly...

Ordering "A Musical History of Disneyland"

I just tried to order it -- it seems that they have switched over to some sort of 'after hours' crew, and this crew doesn't have the resources that the regular group does. I placed my order, but it felt a lot like they were just writing it down for me... we'll see... (fingers crossed) :)

    Regarding the contest

I second your 'rats,' Dr. Know. Technical issues prevented me from putting my story into the ring, but I have really enjoyed reading all of the entries. Perhaps there is a way that we could continue this idea a little further... continue gathering the stories of how Disney music has touched...

"There She Stands" finale (anyone ever heard this?)

According to information on the iTunes Music Store, the track was originally recorded for Michael W. Smith's 2002 album "Worship Again": http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...dItemId=1504392 It was performed and re-recorded at the 2004 Republican National Convention...

    Question re: Minnie's Yoo Hoo

I believe that the performance in "Mickey's Follies" is the "original." It does indeed feature lyrics, and is not strictly instrumental. I haven't been able to verify it, but the voice may actually be Walt Disney (in the short, not the CD version). The song is by Carl Stalling, with Lyrics by...

    Toucan Pirates

Hi there! I was browsing the iTunes Music Store and found a group in the 'World' music section called Toucan Pirates. They perform a number of 'pirate' tunes (it reminds me of the background music at the Columbia Harbor House at the Magic Kingdom), but the thing that really caught my eye was...
