Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

as usual the latest Disney DVD release in Germany (Home on the Range - which I recommend for the 15 minute making of in which Alan Menken talks about how 9/11 influenced him to compose "Will the Sun ever shine again", plus the deleted opening sequence featuring three butterflies with a great song) came with a new flyer advertising upcoming DVD releases.

As usual they advertise already the DVD releases of the not yet even in the cinemas presented features like The Incredibles and the Pooh Hefalump movie.

BUT there is also a preview for the summer / fall 2005 releases of which two are mentioned already: Cinderella and ... TARZAN 2. They do not say much about what Tarzan 2 is supposed to be, but it does say that it features new songs by Phil Collins. Not an expert on direct to DVD sequels I wonder: is this the old Tarzan & Jane feature or is it a new one? Anyone having any ideas?

    Hello
Tarzan 2 is a new movie that will be released sometime next year. Tarzan & Jane is a completely different film. I heard in an interview with Phil Collins that he was writing a few new songs for it. Hope that helps.

    Thanks for clearing this up.

As the advertising in the flyer from Buena Vista Germany clearly states that Tarzan 2 will feature new songs by Phil Collins I think this is now confirmed information.

Just for the rumor mill (in case anybody is interested): the illustration next to the text shows Tarzan as a child from the original Tarzan feature, so it might be a prequel (or just a bad chosen illustration).
