Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

here another question for our Japan CD experts:

Looking at the releases by Walt Disney Records through avex in Japan, on the back of the jewel case there is the usual amount of small prints found on any CDs around the globe. But there also appears what are two different dates.

The first date is printed in a rectangular box and in the case of the new "Aladdin's Whole New World" CD is e.g. "05.6.1". I assume this is the date of the official release, so 1st of June 2005. After the box in which this date is printed some signs in circles follow and then a second date. In the case of the before mentioned CD it is "05.11.30". I wonder is this the date that the shops are supposed to take the CDs out of the sale or maybe the date avex plans to delete the CD from its official offering?

In the case of the old "Christmas Fantasy 2000" the dates were 00.11.15 and 02.11.14 which would be strange, as it would mean that the CD would be on sale or at least listed by avex till mid November two years after its initial release. On the other hand the date on the Aladdin CD would be about right, just as on the "Rock Around the Mouse" CD.

So, does anyone know more on this?

I'm not positive, but that could be the end of the production run. The CD would only be produced between those two dates, but copies would remain on shelves until sold.
