Maybe I'm the only one who didn't know, but composer Michael Kamen died suddenly this past Tuesday, November 18, in his home in London. I just stumbled on this sad news last night when I happened to log onto the buysoundtrax website.

Aside from many notable scores, he was known in the Disney camp especially for The Three Musketeers and 101 Dalmations.

Yes, Michael, this sad news has been all over the film music boards. He was only 55! And what a tremendous talent... Brazil, Baron Munchausen, Robin Hood, From the Earth to the Moon, Mr. Holland's Opus, to name just a few. He had an unmistakeable voice, and it will be sorely missed. :'(

Also, he did that great score for Disney-released Open Range. I guess that was his last score :-[
