Needless to say, I have it, and it is outstanding. At 1200 copies, this is sure to sell out before Christmas. ELOISE AT CHRISTMASTIME is particularly fetching, by the way. Highly recommended!

    Ah, Bill...

Bill refers to an incident when I ordered a copy of the ELF soundtrack from Amazon.com and had it sent to my office. For some reason, the package was opened, and I found the cd sitting on my desk. Still to this day I don't know who opened it for me.

Anyway, I think he cat is out of the bag on my crazy listening habits.

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there,

I'd like to say THANKS to Greg for pointing out the release, which I would have missed otherwise. With less than a week for an international delivery the CD has arrived at my place in Germany ... and all I can say is ... it is great. Really lovely material, which cleverly plays with different orchestrations for the different characters. The Christmastime soundtrack includes some really big, sweaping themes.

On a side note: I appreciate the liner notes by the director and the composer in the small, but color printed booklet. I hope Intrada will get the rights for additional score releases from BVHE and or / TWDC.

Even so I fully recommend the CD (if anyone would bother about that), there are two things that I think could be improved: why not some official artwork or a still from the movie as cover? There are movie stills in the booklet. The illustration chosen reminds me more of the book and not of the movies, also Koch has just released some CD with similar illustrations on the cover. And last but not least: it would have been great if they would have included the songs as bonus tracks. There were same really great vocal performances there.

Nevertheless I am sure the CD will be played quite a bit.

    Yours

    Dirk
