Does anyone know where one might purchase (other than Ebay) CD's from the Japan Disney Stores? I am looking for The Lion King and Dumbo. They have new, really pretty cover art. I believe they might be from a series of CD's released called Disney Dreams. Seems the set included those two, plus Beauty and the Beast, Pinocchio, Little Mermaid, Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella and Snow White. There could be more. According to the Japan Disney Store site, they don't sell items from the website, etc.

Any suggestions on where I might find these CD's is appreciated.

Leesa, apparently that set was released in two different ways. You're right about it being called "Disney Dreams".

It consisted of 20 soundtracks, and was released as a single boxed set with all 20 CD's, plus large art prints of each of the covers, a lithograph, a pin, and a numbered card identifying the set. It's a very well produced set. It comes in a huge white box with an outline of Mickey's head on it.

I guess later, the Disney Stores in Japan broke up the set, and released each of the 20 CD's individually. You could also buy a case to put them all in, but it wasn't the same as the boxed set.

All 20 of the CD's are...

    Snow White
    Pinocchio
    Dumbo
    Bambi
    Cinderella
    Alice in Wonderland
    Peter Pan
    Lady and the Tramp
    Sleeping Beauty
    The Jungle Book
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
    The Little Mermaid
    Beauty and the Beast
    Aladdin
    The Lion King
    Pocahontas
    The Hunchback of Notre Dame
    Hercules
    Mulan
    Tarzan

The artwork on all of them is great. Some of the CD's also have tracks not found on any of the US releases. Such as demo tracks. Alice in Wonderland and Cinderella come to mind. Good luck tracking all of them down though. I don't know of any places that you can order them anymore, so the only place I can think of is Ebay.

Please let us know if you find them available anywhere. I'd love to pick up the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, assuming it's th original cast.

X-S....it's not the original cast. I was very bummed about that too. It does have some score though, which hasn't been released before, but it's so minimal that it makes you think "why bother?"

Also, now that I'm thinking about it, I'm not entirely sure that the "Disney Dreams" set, and the individual ones sold at the Disney Store were the same. I seem to remember now that they had different artwork. I thought I saw the Disney Store versions with some of the old LP covers instead of new artwork. I could be wrong about that. It could very well be that somebody broke up the "Disney Dreams" set and is selling them individually. The CD's were individually sealed within the boxed set, so it's entirely possible...

Hopefully one of the posters in Japan can clear it up a little more.

Thanks, Ben, for all of the information on this set of CD's. I can see now that I have quite a few more to purchase to get them all. The art work is what drew me to them-it is just so beautiful and so much prettier and attractive than anything that gets released here in the US.
