I am looking for information on the music of the opening day of Disneyland, July 17 1955.
I am particularly interested to find out, if there is a complete recording of the music available, or just the TV broadcast of the opening day.
Furthermore I would like to find out, who composed the music for the opening day, and who recorded it.
I know it probably is a longshot that anybody knows, I just thought I try.

From watching the opening day show, most of the music from the dedication ceremony was provided by the Disneyland Band, arranged and conducted by Vesey Walker. His arrangements are still being played today. I once heard the Band play a set of 1955 opening day type stuff, and the arrangements were the same, note for note. I think it's nice that no one, in 50 years, decided to "improve" those arrangements.

There were several recordings made of the Disneyland Band, as well as the Walt Disney World Band (although in my opinion, they are the same band on record. I could be wrong.) I am not sure of the titles of those albums, but you can check here on the LP index. I'm pretty sure the WDW Band LP is simply titled "The Walt Disney World Band."

    Hope that shed some light.
