New York investment firm Providence Capital has invited major Disney stockholders to participate in a meeting in New York next week aimed at discussing "critical issues ... that have undermined investor confidence" in the company. "In view of Disney's recent stock performance, we believe the board would welcome the views of its largest stockholders prior to instituting changes in the company's governing body," Providence said in a statement Wednesday. A meeting of Disney's board is scheduled to take place the following week.
