BBC Radio 2 "Music of Disney" Concert Special goes on line Dec. 26

BBC Radio, particularly BBC Radio 2, offers tons of great programming you can listen to for free on your computer. On Friday, December 26, they will broadcast a big Disney special called BBC RADIO 2 CELEBRATES THE MUSIC OF DISNEY presented by Josh Groban.

Here's the blurb from their website:
Radio 2 brings a galaxy of Broadway and West End stars to London for a unique concert event celebrating The Music of Disney.

Staged in the Lyceum Theatre -- the current home of The Lion King -- the 70-piece BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Larry Blank, will back a stellar cast that includes the original Broadway stars of The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Aida and The Little Mermaid.

Heather Headley, Ashley Brown, Drew Sarich, Adam Pascal and Tituss Burgess will be joined by West End stars Maria Friedman and London's current "Zorro," Matt Rawle, plus the current cast of The Lion King for a dazzling evening of musical magic.

The concert will feature classics from Pinocchio, Mary Poppins, Fantasia, The Jungle Book, Lady and the Tramp, Toy Story, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Lion King, Aladdin, Cinderella, Snow White, Tarzan, Sleeping Beauty, Enchanted and High School Musical.

Among the songs: 'The Circle of Life', 'The Bare Necessities'; 'Under the Sea'; 'A Whole New World;' 'Once Upon A Dream' 'You'll Be In My Heart', 'He's A Tramp'; 'Beauty and the Beast'; and of course 'When You Wish Upon A Star'....
The BBC 2 Site will probably make the show available for several days, but don't wait too long because it will likely be removed without notice.

I wouldn't necessarily put these two together...

    Thanks for the information.

I know. It's wrong to lower High School Musical to the level of the chicken scratch drawings with no substance of earlier walt disney animations like those other movies

Thanks for the notice! Hopefully they keep it up for a while. I won't be on a high-speed connection again until Saturday night.

    yes still available at
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/fridayni...list_last.shtml
You need IE (not Firefox) but will you be allowed to listen in the US?
Sounded quite reasonable but it went "funny" after 48 minutes and started stuttering and I can't get it to play after that!).
I recorded the first 48 minutes of it with Freecorder but just can't get the rest.
If anyone has got it all and could post to a fileshare site, that would be nice (it's 2 hours long).
Should have taped it live off the radio but forgot

I have just found that some generous fellow has posted most of the show on YouTube and the sound quality is top-notch!
