I have been working on the Arusha Rock playlist for several months.

Unlike the music that is used around the rest of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, almost all of these tracks are not what you would call "Afro Pop," so identifying this stuff has been much harder to do.

So far, I have correctly identified 26 out of 42 tracks.

I had to scour the entire planet, literally, to obtain one of the CDs that is used in the loop.

    Ouch.

This is a huge slap in the face to Disney park audio fans.

    Thanks, ParkTunes.

Don't worry, I'm sure Ricky/ParkTunes and his other sources will get the information out to the fan community. :D

And, of course, all accurate after spending many hours in the parks recording the music, scouring the net for the correct versions of the tunes, checking the times etc
    (sorry, my sarcasm is showing)

Strangely enough, I got an error message when I tried to post this saying "The last posting from your IP was less than 300 seconds ago. Please try again later". o_O (yes, I had posted a reply before to another topic).
Are we restricted to how often we can post now?

5 minutes between posts unfortunately. Most unfortunate because the spambots, while called spambots, didn't actually spam in the sense of frequent posts by the same person just spammed in the sense of spam mail type postings.

Thanks for the laugh. That was really funny.

I'm sure you have, but I'll throw it out anyway. Perhaps you should check out some stuff from Guem.

For those that have been following this thread since April, the music at Arusha Rock is playing once again. I hope Little Ricky and his vast network post the playlist soon. Otherwise, it's going to be a long afternoon at the lodge.

Oh, and no dedicated Christmas loop is playing. You would think Disney would be able to find some African themed Christmas music. The Polynesian has a dedicated loop, but it's pretty much crap (although I still made a recording). Little Ricky has lots of work to do...

Is it possible to post the rest of your playlists in this exact Ricky-Free format, so that those who want it can go and find it for themselves, and that Little Ricky wouldn't bring himself around to identifying and posting dozens of tracks?

You lost me, Ozzie. What do you mean by "Ricky-Free format?" The Arusha Rock tracks that I posted are only "Ricky-Free" in that they have yet to be identifed. If I were to post the song titles and artists for the tracks that I have already identified (26 out of 42), there would be nothing stopping Little Ricky from putting those tracks, along with his iTMS and Amazon affiliate links, on his own website.
You lost me again, Ozzie. Little Ricky hasn't actually gone out and identified anything on his own. He is simply copying the work that has already been done by others.

I am working on a solution to this problem...

You're going to take him to the parks, chain him up in a selected spot and stand over him with a large club until he writes all the titles down himself?
Seriously though, I'm hoping SeaCastle was suggesting that a listing of "unknown" tracks like that but giving the number and duration of them would still be of help to those of us that are still attempting to make listings.
The fact that we can find out that there are 42 tracks is a start.
maybe that's still too much information to make available though :(

Oddly enough, that's exactly what I wanted to say.

Those who want the AKL playlists would, in theory, find the track titles for themselves, because those who want the loops will set their hearts on doing it.

Mr. Brigante, on the other hand, would prefer the tracks to be layer out in front of him, so all he has to do is enter them in his database. I doubt he would personally ID hours of tracks; he has better things to do. So, posting the tracklists in that format would separate those who really want the music. And those who really want the cash off of the music.

Sorry about this and I hpe this makes sense.

Obviously, it would be impossible for anyone to ID the tracks without a reference recording. Posting the recordings isn't, in my opinion, a good idea.

I still have no clue as to what you guys are talking about. :(

Without a recording of the loop in your possession you couldn't possibly identify any of the tracks based on nothing more than sequence and duration.

If you'd like a useless playlist, though, here you go:

    Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge
    Arusha Rock Area Music [2008]
    (May 2008 to Present Day)

    01. A______ ~2:15
    02. Unknown ~2:04 (drums, cowbell)
    03. A______ ~2:13
    04. A______ ~3:36
    05. B______ ~3:43
    06. B______ ~2:18
    07. C______ ~2:46
    08. Unknown ~1:28 (drums)
    09. Unknown ~1:12 (drums)
    10. E______ ~2:44
    11. Unknown ~2:10 (drums, cowbell)
    12. Unknown ~2:04 (drums)
    13. F______ ~2:21
    14. Unknown ~4:55 (flute, drums, clapping, yelling)
    15. Unknown ~1:58 (drums, cowbell, vocal)

Re: Animal Kingdom Lodge Area Music

I wasn't (for myself) talking of a specific loop but some of us (I believe) do have BGMs in our collections (or partial ones) awaiting track details and having the listing of the number and duration of tracks does help in several ways.
The most obvious is to confirm that we do actually have the genuine thing and not what we would have if we followed some of Mr B's listings.
There's also the possibility with some loops that (if we are unfamiliar with the genre tunes etc) can easily slide from one track to another making the tracks appear longer (i.e. merging of multiple tracks that sound similar).
Armed with that blueprint, we can then, at least, do our own research for the titles of those tracks.
Again, I'm making the presumption (maybe wrongly and, in which case, I agree they wouldn't be much use) that those that would want the skeleton lists WILL have a recording of some sort that they are trying to deal with, maybe passed to them or recorded by them (and many of us do only manage partial recordings when a family is shouting to stop recording the shrubbery and to take them on a ride :().
Titles, number of tracks and duration are the three things needed. Now, alas, we have to find the first by ourselves.

    Edit:
    Er, and location of course.

    I gotta have more cowbell!

By the way, I put in another useless request for a complete playlist.

You need to grab the More Cowbell! app for your iPhone.

Where? At the AKL? Or on Little Ricky's forum?

I put in a request for the Arusha Rock playlists with someone I mentioned to you a few months back. I am confident this person can get the information, but whether he responds to my request is a different story.
